The MREA Controversy is a split in the Democratic party that formed after the eponymous MREA bill. Senator Vui (D-NE) and Rep. Julio974 (D-OV) are influential politicians in the LTE Discord. However, the two came to quips in the MREA Bill, a bill dealing with the way voting should work in the future. Julio and his supporters were very strong supporters of it and even formed their own sub-party inside the Discord (Union Forward Party) to support it. Vui, the rest of the Senate and some more established members of the DNC strongly opposed it.

After the House narrowly edged it out in favor of the bill 6-4, a brief flame war ensued. Julio was removed from his role as Secretary of the DNC by SamuelM1.

1234rt and Quentin proposed an informal joint session of Congress to try to resolve the conflict which Vui and Santander agreed to assuming the issue continues.

As of May 11th, 2018, the Senate has had 5 out of 6 members vote on the bill, with so far all of them being against. The final vote was 0-6, with no senators voting in favour of the legislation, therefore making it dead on the Senate Floor.

The poll Qwerty 7 shows that 53% of the people approve the bill and only 26% rejects it, although many question the importance of this result as the poll was conducted before many of the bill's flaws were discovered, and many people have subsequently changed their position.

A following Plethora Poll showed that 56% of people disapproved of this bill compared to 28% supporting the bill.
